Great staff and great care for my dog. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the visit went smoothly. The only thing I didn't love was that we discussed pricing for additional services before the veterinarian had seen my dog. I don't mind talking about costs, but I would have preferred for the doctor to evaluate my dog first and then discuss recommendations and pricing. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

We recently brought our dog to ProK9 for a fertility test, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. The staff took such great care of our dog and made sure we felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. The facility itself was very clean, organized, and well-maintained, which immediately gave us confidence in the level of care they provide. It was clear that the team genuinely cares about the animals they work with and takes pride in what they do. We truly appreciated the kindness, attention, and expertise shown by everyone at ProK9. If you're looking for a place that provides excellent care and outstanding customer service, I highly recommend ProK9. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely return in the future.

We were referred to ProK9 by a friend, and from the very first day, we knew we had found something special. I honestly can’t put into words how grateful we are for their kindness, honesty, and the genuine care they show. When one of our babies became seriously ill, we were scared and overwhelmed—but they didn’t hesitate for a second to help us. They made time immediately, welcomed him in, and treated him like he was one of their own. They carefully assessed his condition and recommended an overnight stay. That one night turned into two, which was so hard for us, but they made it a little easier by keeping us updated every step of the way. Knowing he was in such caring, capable hands gave us so much comfort during a really difficult time. We will always be thankful for the compassion and dedication they showed our family. I can not express how much gratitude I have for Dr. Patricia Gross and her staff. Thank you again team for taking care of my bubbies.

Pet Imaging FAQs

Pet imaging helps veterinarians diagnose injuries and medical conditions with greater accuracy. The following questions explain how pet X-rays and veterinary ultrasound work at Pro K9 Veterinarian in Richmond, Texas and when these diagnostic tools may be recommended for dogs and cats.

What conditions can pet X-rays detect?

Pet X-rays are commonly used to evaluate bones, joints, lungs, and abdominal structures. At Pro K9 Veterinarian in Richmond, TX, digital X-rays help identify fractures, arthritis, swallowed objects, tumors, and certain heart or lung conditions. X-ray imaging is one of the fastest ways for veterinarians to assess injuries or internal abnormalities in dogs and cats.

K
L
When would a veterinarian recommend an ultrasound for my pet?

Veterinary ultrasound is often recommended when veterinarians need to evaluate soft tissue organs such as the liver, kidneys, spleen, bladder, or heart. At Pro K9 Veterinarian, dog and cat ultrasound exams help detect internal abnormalities, fluid buildup, organ disease, or pregnancy while providing real-time imaging of internal structures.

K

Is pet imaging safe for dogs and cats?

Yes. Veterinary imaging procedures such as digital X-rays and ultrasound are considered safe diagnostic tools. X-rays use very small doses of radiation, and ultrasound relies on sound waves rather than radiation. The veterinary team at Pro K9 Veterinarian takes appropriate precautions to ensure pets remain comfortable and safe during imaging procedures.

K
L
Do pets need sedation for X-rays or ultrasound?

Most pets can undergo imaging procedures without sedation if they are able to remain still. However, sedation may occasionally be recommended if a pet is anxious or experiencing pain. The veterinarians at Pro K9 Veterinarian evaluate each pet individually to determine the safest and most comfortable approach.

K
L
How quickly will we receive imaging results?

Many pet X-ray results can be reviewed immediately because digital radiology produces images instantly. Ultrasound results are often evaluated during the exam as well. At Pro K9 Veterinarian in Richmond, TX, the veterinary team explains imaging findings and discusses next steps for treatment as soon as results are available.

What to Expect During Pet Imaging

Pet imaging appointments are typically quick and minimally invasive. During the visit, your veterinarian performs a physical exam and determines whether X-rays or ultrasound imaging are needed. These procedures help the veterinary team evaluate internal structures and identify medical conditions that may not be visible during a routine examination.
